KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will be discharged from the Dhapasi-based Grande Hospital on Thursday, according to the Chairman of the ruling Nepal Communist Party Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.

Talking to media after meeting the ailing Prime Minister, Dahal said, “He underwent dialysis a few minutes ago and will be discharged from the hospital after a brief rest as told by the doctors attending to him.”

He added that the prime minister underwent dialysis yesterday and today and his health condition in a day or two will determine if further dialysis was necessary.

Dahal told media that the prime minister told him that he was in a normal health condition.

Earlier today, leaders including NCP Spokesperson and Secretariat member Narayankaji Shrestha and Bhim Rawal among others had reached the hospital.

However, the leaders were not allowed to meet as the prime minister was undergoing dialysis. Leader Rawal informed that they couldn’t meet PM as he was undergoing dialysis.

PM Oli was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday. Oli visited the Dhapasi-based hospital for a health check-up at 9 am.

Earlier on October 19, he was taken to the same hospital for various tests.

Prime Minister Oli had also on September 11 visited the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) and got a catheter removed from his neck that was inserted in PM Oli’s neck when he underwent plasmapheresis at the Singapore-based National University Hospital.

Plasmapheresis is a process in which unhealthy plasma is taken out and fresh plasma is transfused into the patient.

It should be recalled that PM Oli was admitted to the National University Hospital in August.

He had on August 12 returned from Singapore after his health check-up in the hospital. He had gone back for further treatment to the same hospital on August 22.

Prime Minister Oli had undergone a kidney transplant surgery some 12 years ago.
