Ruling NCP recommends three candidates for Kaski-2

POKHARA: The Gandaki State Committee of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has recommended three candidates for Kaski Constituency-2 by-election.

The recommended are Bidya Bhattarai, the spouse of the late tourism minister Rabindra Adhikari, Somnath Adhikari ‘Pyasi’ and Rajkaji Gurung ‘Karan’.

While Pyasi is a senior left leader Karan had lost the State Assembly member election from Kaski 2(B) in 2074 BS.

Earlier, the NCP Kaski district committee had recommended Bidya as the only candidate for the upcoming by-election.

Prithvi Subba Gurung, Chief Minister of Gandaki State, stated that the decision to recommend three candidates was made as per the center’s directive.

The by-poll is taking place in Kaski Constituency-2 on November 30.

Meanwhile, Nepali Congress (NC) has recommended 16 aspiring candidates to the center.
