TANAHUN: Nine people have been infected with dengue in Tanahu district, the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division said. A person was diagnosed with the dengue in the district on August 9 and the number of infected has reached nine so far.
People of Byas Municipality and Myagdi Rural Municipality have been affected the most due to the dengue, the Damauli Hospital stated. Blood samples of 12 suspected dengue cases were tested at the Damauli Hospital until August 17. Among those, dengue was found in nine samples, Hospital’s nursing officer Jamuna Sharma said.
According to her, among those treated for dengue at the hospital, one has been sent home and two have been sent to Pokhara. Three dengue cases were found in fiscal year 2071/71, one case was detected in fiscal year 2074/75 and one case in fiscal year 2075/76 in the district.
So far, 339 people have been infected with dengue in the seven districts of the Gandaki province. The highest number of dengue infection is found in Kaski with the 312 reported cases and the lowest number of cases (two cases) has been found in Parbat, Baglung and Lamjung.
Similarly, nine dengue cases have been reported in Syangja and Tanahu and three in Gorkha district.
