KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress has expressed its concerns about over 20 cows found dead in Katakuwa forest area in Birendranagar municipality in Surkhet district.
Around two dozen cows were found dead and hundreds others injured in the forest on Thursday. The NC in a statement issued on Friday by NC chief whip Bal Krishna Khand said slaughter of cows protected by the constitution as national animal is a criminal offence, apart from religious importance attached to the animal.
The NC also condemned the incident and demanded a probe into it and action against the perpetrators. It also asked the government to make sure such incident would not repeat in the coming days.
