SINDHUPALCHOWK: The ward office of Melamchi Municipality-10 in the district was set ablaze on Wednesday morning. Furniture and documents were burnt in the fire, said Inspector Mahendra Darnal and added that those who torched the office are yet to be nabbed.
Likewise, an unidentified group of around six people torched the office of ward-1 of Kakani Rural Municipality in Nuwakot district on Tuesday night, said the police. Furniture, equipment and official documents were burnt down in the arson, said ward chair Chandra Bahadur Shrestha.
A two-room concrete building used by an organization on the ward office premises has also suffered cracks on the walls, he said.
Police said investigations are underway.
