Govt. appoints members to NDC

KATHMANDU: The government on Sunday appointed 25 members to the National Development Council (NDC).

The government appointed industrialists, local level representatives, and NGO representatives to the NDC as per the cabinet decision of March 25.

The National Planning Commission (NPC), the government has appointed Mayor of Kathmandu Bidya Sundar Shakya, Bharatpur Mayor Renu Dahal, Biratnagar Mayor Bhim Parajuli, Birgunj Mayor Bijaya Sarawagi, Janapur deputy mayor Rita Kumari Mishra, Butwal Mayor Shivaraj Subedi, Birendranagar Mayor Mohan Maya Bhandari, Dhangadi deputy mayor Sushila Mishra Bhatta, vice-chair of Aathrai rural municipality Rupadevi Kandangwa and mayor of Damak Geeta Adhikari.

Similarly, Pokhariya deputy mayor Salma Khatoon, Putalibazaar Mayor Seema Kumari Chettri, Shiva Raj municipality deputy mayor Shiva Kumar Chaudhary, Chief of Kumakha rural municipality Dilmaya Budhamagar, Mayor of Puchaudi municipality Rana Bahadur Kunwar, Chief of Mustang DCC Tshering Lyamho Gurung, President of DCC Federation Geeta Sundas, President of Municipality Association of Nepal Ashok Byanju and President of National Association of Rural Municipalities Hom Narayan Shrestha have been appointed members of the Council.

The government has also appointed President of National Cooperatives Federation Keshav Badal, President of Federation of Nepali Chambers of Commerce and Industry Bhawani Rana, President of Confederation of Nepalese Industries Hari Bhakta Sharma, President of Chamber of Commerce Rajesh Kaji Shrestha, President of Joint Trade Union Committee Binod Shrestha and NGO Federation Chair Jitram Lama as members.

The members have been appointed considering the meeting of the Council summoned for coming April 3 and 4.
