FNJ condemns mistreatment of journalist

KATHMANDU: The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has said that its serious attention has been drawn towards the incident of a journalist, who was mistreated and manhandled in Humla district.

Journalist Narjung Tamang was misbehaved by Ram Jung Shahi and Jagadish Hamal over the issue of news on December 27 in the district.

The FNJ determined that manhandling and treatment of journalists was interference on press freedom and freedom of expression.

Issuing a press release on Monday, FNJ General Secretary Ramesh Bista condemned such anti-press move and demanded legal action against the guilty.
