KATHMANDU: Chairperson of the Nepal Communist Party and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has laid emphasis on the need of increasing investment in education sector.
Inaugurating the silver jubilee ceremony of Sarbashanti Secondary School at Ichchhakamana-4 of Chitwan district on Sunday, Chairman Dahal said that it was necessary to increase investment in education sector for the development of the nation and society, as education is the main basis for the development of society and nation.
He said, “Education is the main basis for the development of society and nation. Development and prosperity cannot get momentum until the state increases investment for the development of education sector keeping it at priority.”
The NCP Chair pointed out the need of increasing investment in education sector in backward countries like Nepal, adding that private schools should be regulated and community schools should be encouraged.
Saying he, during his premiership, provided budget for the construction of physical infrastructure, Dahal expressed commitment to provide necessary support in coming days.
On the occasion, founder principal of the school and former minister Hitraj Pandey and Chairperson of Ichchhakamana rural municipality, former student of the school, Gita Kumari Gurung were honoured on the occasion. (Photo available)
