SALYAN: Candidate of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Dharma Budhathoki has been elected ward chairman of Kumakh Rural Municipality-5.

Budhathoki received 792 votes. His closest candidate Khadka Bahadur Bohara of the Nepali Congress got 251 votes.

A total of 1,124 votes were cast in the by-elections held on Saturday.
