Vote counting of Kaski-2 at enclosed area



POKHARA: Turnout in the by-elections held to elect a member of the House of Representatives in Kaski constituency-2 has been recorded at 65 percent.

According to Election Officer Mahendraraj Subedi at District Election Office, Kaski, the vote counting will begin at the building of the District Coordination Committee after holding an-all party meeting at 8 pm.

The vote counting will be held inside an area enclosed by wires to prevent hooliganism.

21 candidates including 10 independents are in the election fray in the constituency.

A high voltage competition is expected between Nepal Communist Party’s candidate Bidya Bhattarai and Nepali Congress’ candidate Khemraj Poudel.

Explosions were reported in four places in the constituency during the by-polls. No human casualty occurred.
