13,000 smart licenses being reprinted

KATHMANDU: The Department of Transport Management (DoTM) said it is reprinting about 13,000 smart licenses after the information on the already printed licenses were unclear.

According to the Department, among the 300,000 smart licenses which were printed by a private company, 13,000 were sub-standard since the photo and the information on these licenses were legible.

DoTM Spokesperson Tirtharaj Khanal said that the information of blood group and address were not clearly printed in these licenses.

The Department introduced smart license by replacing the hand-written ones around four years back.

Around 950,000 smart licenses have yet to be distributed by the Department due to lack of adequate equipment to print the licenses.
