40 percent paddy plantation completed in Baitadi

BAITADI: Paddy plantation in Baitadi has been completed in 40 percent of the district’s total arable land.

According to Acting Chief Karna Bahadur Chan of Agriculture Information Centre in Baitadi, the plantation commenced in places with irrigation facilities from mid-May.

Chan said that paddy plantation in several places of the district starts once the maize harvest is over.

Paddy plantation was done in almost 7,000 hectares out of the 10,000 hectares land having irrigation facility in Baitadi district. Vegetables are grown in the rest of the land.
