New salary scale ranges from Rs 28,564 to Rs 66,310

KATHMANDU: The government has hiked the salary of its employees effective from mid-July. Unveiling the 1.53 trillion budget on Wednesday, Finance Minister Yuba Raj Khatiwada announced the increase in the salary of non-gazetted officials by 20 percent and that of gazetted by 18 percent.

According to the announcement, under civil service, Nayab Subba (non-gazetted first class officer)’s salary has been increased by 20 percent while that of non-gazetted third class and above officials by 18 percent.

Similarly, the salary of all civil servants, Nepal Army, Police, Armed Police Force has been hiked.

With the announcement, the salary of government staffers has been increased by a minimum of Rs 3,445 to maximum of Rs 9,810.

With the new increment, now an office assistant will receive Rs 28,564 in salary per month and chief secretary Rs 66,310 per month.
