Govt sets Rs 400,000 as non-taxable income

KATHMANDU: The newly issued budget has widened the ceiling of non-taxable income. The budget of the fiscal year 2076/77 has raised the ceiling of non-taxable income from Rs 350,000  to Rs 400,000.

Similarly, it has been increased up to Rs 450,000 in the case of couple.

Similarly, the rate of income tax for those who have invested in the share market has been fixed at 5 percent.

According to the new rules, cooperatives have to pay 5 percent income tax in Metropolitan City and 10 percent in Sub Metropolitan City.
