India’s Home ministry issues notice to Rahul over citizenship status



NEW DELHI: India’s Union Home Ministry on Tuesday issued a notice to Congress President Rahul Gandhi over his citizenship following a complaint from Subramanian Swamy, a Rajya Sabha MP, India media reported.

The Ministry has asked Gandhi to respond within a fortnight.

The Ministry, in its notice, said that Rahul Gandhi has been one of the directors and the secretary of a company named Backops Limited registered in the UK in the year 2003.

MP Swamy had recently said that Rahul Gandhi possesses four passports. (Agencies)
