PM Modi urges people to shun use of e-cigarettes



NEW DELHI: India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said the government banned e-cigarettes as they have harmful effects on human health, mainly on the youth.

In his Mann Ki Baat broadcast on Sunday, PM Modi said a significant number of youths have the misconception that e-cigarettes do not harm.

PM Modi said tobacco addiction is extremely harmful to human health. Moreover, coming out of this addiction is very difficult, he added, Indian media reports have said.

People consuming tobacco suffer problems like diabetes, cancer, blood pressure, among other diseases due to the presence of nicotine.

He also urged youth to shun the use of e-cigarettes. (Agencies)
