Nepal-Bhutan trade talks begins in Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: The Third Trade talks between Nepal and Bhutan has begun in Kathmandu today after a hiatus of eight years.

The meeting will focus on simplifying and facilitating trade between the two countries, according to Nepal’s Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Supplies.

Joint Secretary at the Ministry Nabaraj Dhakal is leading the Nepali delegation while Sonam Tenzin, Director at the Trade Regulation and Monitoring Division of Bhutan, is leading the Bhutanese delegation.

According to Dhakal, the meeting would focus on signing a bilateral trade between Nepal and Bhutan.

Nepal is likely to import coal and construction equipment from Bhutan, according to the ministry.
