Move Nepal Army troops out of minister’s quarter: Home Secretary Rai

KATHMANDU: Home Secretary Prem Kumar Rai has demanded to move Nepal Army personnel out of minister’s quarter in Pulchowk, Lalitpur.

Rai said so during the meeting of State Affairs and Good Governance Committee held to discuss a new bill on Nepal Police and Federal Police.

He further said that only Nepal Police should be entrusted for criminal investigation while Armed Police Force should be deployed at customs points.

Similarly, the government should collect security tax from the civil, private organizations, projects, industrial houses and diplomatic mission where the security personals are deployed.

He said, “Government’s duty is to provide security for all but it should make necessary law to collect security tax for providing security.”
