Finance Minister Khatiwada presents fiscal budget (Live)



KATHMANDU: Minister for Finance, Yuva Raj Khatiwada presenting the budget of over Rs 1.6 trillion for the upcoming fiscal year 2019/20.

Unveiling the budget, Minister Khatiwada said that a foundation has been laid through the current fiscal budget to achieve a nearly two two-digit economic growth for the next fiscal year.

The minister said that industrial capacity has increased and savings have been historic in the current fiscal year. He added that electricity production will double in the coming fiscal year.

The budget has allocated Rs 55.30 billion for provinces and Rs 89.95 billion for local units. The new budget aims to end absolute poverty and engage locals in development projects.
