Custom official held with 1,500 bribe

TIKAPUR: Police have arrested a custom official with  Rs 15,000 bribe from Takapur custom office in Kailali district. The arrested has been identified as Ram Bahadur Saud, an official of Tikapur Custom Office.

He asked for an additional money from a Nepali trader while he was importing goods from India despite custom clearance.

Acting on a tip-off, a squad deployed from the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Mahendranagar chapter  caught Saud red-handed with the bribe.

The anti-graft body said they are investigating the case after taking him into custody.
