Janaki Temple’s 1,000 bighas of land sold out

KATHMANDU: As many as 1,000 bighas of land belonging to Janaki Temple have been registered in the name individuals.

There were total of 1,184 bigahs of land belonging to Janaki Temple, of which 1,000 bighas have been sold out to various individuals.

According to Rajdhani daily, Ramtapeshwor Das, in-charge of the Temple (Mathadhis),  sold out the land in cahoots with land mafias.

Similarly, the valuable historical ornaments, idols and caches of the Temple have also been found sold.  Even though five commissions have been formed so far to investigate land issue of the Temple, they have not helped sort it out.
