Two arrested for hundi transaction

KATHMANDU: Police have arrested two persons with Rs three million cash for their alleged involvement in the illegal transfer of remittance called hundi.

A police team deployed from Metropolitan Crime Division arrested Krishna Prasad Bhattarai, 23, of Sheetganga in Arghakhanchi district with Rs three million from New Road on Thursday.

Police also arrested proprietor of Anjali Overseas Gobardhan Prasad Sarawagi after finding out that Bhattarai had given the money to him.

Sarawagi, currently living in Nardevi, has been involved in the illegal transfer of remittance since long, police said.
