KATHMANDU: The Nepal Army is all set to manufacture explosive devices in the country itself.

It has already set up a manufacturing plant at Sunachari of Makwanpur district to this effect. The NA believes that, the explosive devices, if manufactured in the country itself, would also contribute in the construction of the national pride projects.

According to NA, the manufacturing capacity of the Sunachari-based factory is to produce 2,400 metric tons explosive devices.

Currently, the annual demand of explosive devices is 5,000 metric tons.

“Nepal Army has established a manufacturing plant at a time when the annual demand of explosive devices in the country is more than 5,000 metric tons,” said Major General Ajit Bar Singh Thapa at an interaction related to the distribution of explosive devices manufactured by the NA on Wednesday.
