KATHMANDU: Even though Prime Minister KP Oli launched the nationaldata.gov.np, an integrated statistics portal of the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) today, the portal says it contains no data.

Authorities concerned have yet to upload data on the site as claimed during the inaugural ceremony of the portal on Sunday.

PM Oli launched the portal amid a full meeting of the National Planning Commission (NPC) on Sunday. Even though the portal has been claimed to have all necessary data processed on the basis of geography of the federal, states and local levels, nature, and sustainable development goals, the website is yet to be uploaded with information.

However, the launch of the portal has been claimed to have been launched in line with the government’s repeated commitments about its policies and programs for the current fiscal year.

Take for instance what Suman Aryal, Director General at the Central Bureau of Statistics had claimed: “The portal is based on the principles of open data. It is expected to ensure people’s access to data concerning multiple sectors, including geography, nature, resources, potentials and SDGs.”
