DPM Pokhrel vows to increase old-age allowance



BHIMDUTTANAGAR:  Ishwor Pokhrel, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defense has vowed to increase the social security and old-age allowance to the senior citizens in the upcoming budget.

He said that the senior citizens’ social security allowance would be increased to Rs 5,000 per month.

Brushing aside reports that the government was slashing the social security allowance, he said the government was planning to provide up to Rs. one hundred thousand as medical insurance to the senior citizens under the social security scheme.
