KATHMANDU: India has been positive to review Nepal-India Transit Treaty. Information to this was shared at the ongoing Nepal-India Transit Treaty Review Meeting in Kathmandu.
The two-country officials held the meeting for facilitating Nepal in its access to third countries for the trade. Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply, Nabaraj Dhakal, who is leading the Nepali delegation, shared that the two sides held discussion on reviewing the Treaty.
The Indian side was positive to allow its two more border points for bulk cargo transportation, he added. Similarly, for the water transport, some more points have been added.
The discussion was held in a positive way to operate water transportation along Kolkata-Kalughat-Raxual, Kolkata-Sahibgunj-Biratnagar, and Kolkata-Varanashi-Sunauli.
