Sophie Wilmes chosen as first woman PM of Belgium



BRUSSELS: Budget Minister of Belgium Sophie Wilmes has been chosen as the country’s new caretaker prime minister (PM) to become the country’s first woman PM.

The country’s caretaker PM Charles Michel is taking over as European Council president on December 1.

He had on Friday said he would step down by the beginning of November ‘at the latest’.
