NEW DELHI: NASA on Friday has released some high-resolution images that were captured by its Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Camera (LROC) showing that found India’s Chandrayaan 2 lander Vikram had a hard landing, media reports have said.

The module had attempted a soft landing on the moon’s highland smooth plains between Simpelius N and Manzinus C craters before losing communication with ISRO on September 7, India Today has said.

The landing site was around 600 km from the south pole, according to NASA, the US space agency.

NASA said Vikram had a hard landing. (Agencies)
