Australian climber rescued from Mount Everest

KATHMANDU: An Australian climber is undergoing treatment in a hospital here after he was found unconscious on Mount Everest.

He was found by Tibetan rescuers on the northern slope of Mount Everest on Wednesday, at an altitude of 7,500 meters. The climber was reported to have been in a critical condition, but has since stabilized, ABC reported.

The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade said it was “ready to provide consular assistance to an Australian man hospitalized in Kathmandu”.
