RIO DE JANEIRO : As many as 15 jailbirds died in a riot that erupted among inmates in the norther part of the country, local media reported.
The prisoners started fighting among themselves around noon, and security reinforcements were rushed to the Anisio Jobim Prison Complex in the state capital of Manaus, the authorities said.
Earlier, in January, 2017, a similar kind of riot had occurred at the Anisio Jobim Prison Complex, killing 56 people.
