Tiger found dead near CNP

CHITWAN: A spotted tiger was found dead at a community forest under the Chitwan National Park (CNP) here.

The endangered animal was found dead at Bedghari community forest in Thori rural municipality-3 in Parsa.

CNP’s Chief Conservation Officer Narayan Rupakheti said the tiger died in-fighting.

Locals had informed the police after they saw the dead tiger while cutting grass.

Rupakheti said that the tiger has bruises across its body. He said that the tiger might have been killed in fighting with another tiger. Post-mortem of the tiger will take place today, according to CNP sources.
