Nepal’s PM KP Oli in stable health condition after surgery



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli who underwent successful surgery at Manmohan Cardiothoracic Vascular and Transplant Center at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) for appendicitis is stable, the hospital said in a statement on Tuesday.

The hospital stated that the Prime Minister is undergoing treatment at the Intensive Care Unit with no additional details.

Doctors attending to the Prime Minister said that he needs to stay at the hospital for a few more days. A team of doctors comprising Prof Dr. Arun Sayami, Prof Dr. Ramesh Singh Bhandari and Dr. Dibya Singh are attending to the Prime Minister.

Chairman of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defense Ishwor Pokharel among other ministers reached the hospital today to take stock of the health condition of PM Oli.

Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa, Minister for Communications Gokul Baskota, Minister for Industry Lekhraj Bhatta, Minister for Women Parbat Gurung, Education Minister Girirajmani Pokharel and Health Minister Bhanubhakta Dhakal among other reached the hospital.

However, no one has been allowed to meet PM Oli considering the risk for catching up an infection.
