PM Oli shifted to VIP cabin from operation theater

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli, who successfully underwent surgery for appendicitis, has been shifted to infection-free VIP cabin at TU Teaching Hospital.

A team of doctors led by Dr Ramesh Singh Bhandari conducted surgery for appendicitis of Prime Minister Oli, Dr Arun Sayami told Khabarhub. Prime Minister Oli will remain at the hospital for few days.

Meanwhile, Minister for Health and Population Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal and Minister for Education, Science and Technology Girija Mani Pokharel have paid a visit to Prime Minister Oli.

Oli was admitted to Manmohan Cardiothoracic Vascular and Transplant Center of the TU Teaching Hospital after he complained of some stomach problem on Tuesday morning.

Following a diagnosis of appendicitis, doctors had advised Oli to undergo surgery for it.

Oli underwent dialysis of his kidney for the fourth time at the Dhapasi-based Grande International Hospital on Sunday.

The prime minister has been undergoing regular dialysis at the hospital after the kidney that was transplanted some 12 years ago stopped functioning.
