Petroleum Worker’s Union announces protest



KATHMANDU: All Nepal Petroleum Worker’s Union (ANPWU) has announced protest saying that workers in the petroleum sector have not received the new remuneration announced by the government.

The government has increased the salary of workers by 38.67 percent to be implemented from the start of the fiscal year 2019-20. But, the ANPWU said that the workers in the petroleum sector are yet to receive the hiked salary.

According to the union, the system to deposit salaries in bank accounts has also not been implemented.

Issuing a press statement, the union announced a protest plan from August 22 to September 8.
