Road accidents claim 223 lives in Far West last year

DOTI: A total of 233 people lost their lives to road accidents in Far West State in the last fiscal year 2018/19.

According to the statistics of the Regional Traffic Police Office, Attariya, 434 were injured in the accidents that took place mostly due to the negligence of the drivers as well as pedestrians, and poor road conditions.

Police Inspector Lal Bahadur Saud informed that of those killed in road accidents in the State, 35 were from Dadheldhura district, 13 from Achham, 45 from Kanchanpur, 10 from Baitadi, 15 from Darchula, 24 from Bajhang, 6 in Bajura and 9 from Doti.

Among the deceased 156 were male and 44 were women while the number of minor stood at 23. Inspector Saud said the cases of road accidents were on the rise in the State lately.
