CIAA summons people implicated in Baluwatar land grab

KATHMANDU: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Wednesday has summoned those involved in transferring the ownership of the Baluwatar government land to individuals for statements within seven days.

The anti-draft body issued a notice today summoning 86 persons who have been involved in the land grab scam to record their statements. The names of Ram Prasad Subedi and Shobha Kanta Dhakal, who have been alleged of being ‘land mafia’ by the probe committee formed by the government under former secretary Sharada Prasad Trital have not been included in the list.

The Trital committee had in December 2018 submitted its report to the government stating that the land transferred to individuals’ names actually belonged to the government.
