ICC Cricket World Cup 2019: England making batting records

LONDON: England have been making batting records in the One Day International (ODI) format.

England restructured their ODI side around power-hitters after being crashed out of World Cup 2015 without reaching the knockout stages. This move has worked now.

England, under Eoin Morgan, have jumped to the top spot of ICC ODI rankings. The team is also favorite to take the 2019 World Cup trophy.

England have been posting 300-plus totals at will with the group of big-hitters such as Jos Buttler, Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow, and captain Morgan, at the top.

Since 2018, they have posted 300-plus totals 14 times, which is 6 times more than Pakistan.

Roy said they are surely a group of individuals who want to get better, and want to win the World Cup this time.

England will open their World Cup campaign against South Africa on May 30. They will then face Afghanistan in their final warm-up match on May 27. (Agencies)
