Foreign Minister breaches protocol during Prez’s state visit

KATHMANDU: Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali has been found of breaching protocol during the President Bidya Devi Bhandari’s state visit to China.

In a photograph, Minister Gyawali was spotted donning a sports shoe while the President was engaged in a conversation. The breach of protocol by the minister has drawn flak from several quarters.

Likewise, in another picture, a person was seen descending from the aircraft before the president which is a clear breach of protocol.

Foreign affairs expert Madhu Raman Acharya said, “Issue might have occurred after the visiting team members were not informed about protocol. Breaching of the protocol might vilify the country’s reputation.”
