Vice President Pun lays foundation of model school

HUMLA: Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun today laid the foundation stone to construct the model school block of the Manasarovar Secondary School in Simkot of Humla.

Vice President Pun assured that Humla will not have to face problems in the coming days although the district is lagging behind in terms of production now.

On the occasion, Vice President Pun drew the attention of the federal government and the Karnali state government to expedite the development efforts of the Humla district.

Vice President Pun also informed that the Karnali Corridor master plan and the national pride project have been included in the central government’s priority list.

He stated that the federal government and the Karnali government have plans to develop it as a corridor and a highway connecting India and China.

According to him, after the corridor comes into operation, there will be a significant flow of pilgrims toward the Kailash and Manasarovar via the route.

This, he said, would be helpful in the economic development of the entire Karnali state.
