KATHMANDU: Chief of Army Staff Purna Chandra Thapa has honored ten army personnel of several ranks with the “Chief of Army Staff Commendation Badge”.

The members of the team winning the gold medal in the recent ‘Exercise Cambrian Patrol 2019’ held in Wales of the United Kingdom (UK) from October 11 to 20 have been honored.

The team of Nepal Army had won the gold in the ‘Cambrian Patrol 60’ in the exercise attended by 140 military teams from several 34 countries including the UK and Nepal.

This has been considered the world standard and rigorous competition.

Nepal Army has been participating in this competition since 2014, which is being held since 1960.

NA personnel getting the award include Lieutenant Colonel Asimdeep Gurung, Captain Kasam Shrestha, Warrant Officer 2 Basant Rawat, Sergeant Niroj Adhikari, Lance Corporals Yubin Amgai, Pradeep Kumar Darlami, Arjun Moktan, Dhruba Adhikari, and soldiers Kaushal Bhujel and Santosh Shrestha.

Chief of Army Staff Thapa congratulated them for winning the gold medal as well as for playing a crucial role in introducing the Nepali Army’s glorious history in a lively manner before the world.
