Fire destroys property worth over Rs 10 million in Nepalgunj



NEPALGUNJ: A massive fire that engulfed over six shops neat the BP Chowk in Nepalgunj gutted property worth over Rs 10 million last night.

According to Superintendent of Police (SP) of Banke Bir Bahadur Wali, the fire engulfed shops including the Himalaya Furniture, Janata Sirak, Roshani Furniture, Book shop, and fruit shop.

SP Wali said that the inferno caused huge damage to Janata Sirak, Himalaya, and Roshani Furniture.

Police said that Janata Sirak alone suffered damage worth over Rs 5 million.

Security personnel, fire engines, and locals joined hands together to prevent further damage and to control the fire.

Six fire engines were mobilized to douse the inferno.
