16-year-old climate activist Greta wins ‘Alternative Nobel’



COPEHNAGEN: Greta Thunberg, a Swedish climate activist, has won a Right Livelihood Award, also known as the “Alternative Nobel.”

According to the prize foundation, Thunberg, 16, has been recognized for ‘amplifying and inspiring political demands for climate action reflecting scientific facts.’

She will receive 1 million kronor ($103,000). An award ceremony will be held in Stockholm on December 4. (Agencies)
