KATHMANDU: Minister for Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Padma Aryal has said that the government would not distribute the forest land to the landless people.

Speaking at the National Assembly (NA) on Sunday, she said that the government would soon launch a land survey throughout the country yet again.

Meanwhile, today’s meeting of the NA unanimously passed the proposal seeking consideration on ‘Bill Relating to Land (8th amendment)’.

The Bill that has been endorsed today lifted the ban on the sale of lands with optimum sealing.

Earlier, Minister Aryal had presented the bill at the NA along with the message received from the House of Representatives (HoR).

On the occasion, she said that the Bill was brought in such a way that it would not violate people’s fundamental rights.
