Elderly man dies of dengue in Chitwan

CHITWAN: An elderly man died of dengue at Gangotrimarga in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-2 in the district.

The 71-year-old man died of the disease at Chitwan Medical College, confirmed Ram KC of the district health office, adding that the identity of the deceased has not been disclosed for some reasons. The man was admitted to Bharatpur Community Hospital on August 14 after complaining of fever. Lather the hospital referred him to the medical college.

According to KC, 225 people have been tested positive for the disease in the district of the total 567 tests in the past over one month alone. Of the patients, 40 percent are from the metropolis. An awareness campaign against dengue has been intensified in the district.
