Two drown in Jhapa



JHAPA: Two men died due to drowning in the district on Thursday.

The dead have been identified as Birendra Budhathoki, 38, of Haldibari Rural Municipality-1 and Kaji Bahadur Joshi, 68, of Kamal Rural Municipality-5.

Budhathoki’s body was found floating in a water full ditch in the farmland near his house, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Mahendra Shrestha.

A search had been launched for Budhathoki following the filing of a police complaint about his missing, he said. Likewise, Joshi slipped into a canal while heading to a cowshed. His body was found five kilometers downstream, said Shrestha.
