Chain smoker likely to suffer from cardiac-arrest



KATHMANDU: A study has shown that those who smoke heavily are likely to suffer from cardiac-arrest and that around 45 percent of patients suffering from heart-related ailments are poor and uneducated.

Action Nepal has recently conducted a study on 97 heart patients undergoing treatment at various hospitals and found that most of them were chain smokers.

According to a doctor, a person who smokes has to spend more than Rs 900 thousand in tobacco and treatment of the diseases induced by smoking.
