Joe Biden launches presidential bid

WASHINGTON: Putting an end to months of speculation, former US Vice-President Joe Biden has declared a presidential bid.

Making a video announcement, Biden, 76, said that the “core values of the nation, our democracy, everything that has made America, America, is at stake”.

By saying so, he has entered a race for the 2020 Democratic nomination.

Biden recalled President Donald Trump’s highly-criticized remark that there were “very fine people on both sides” of the deadly Charlottesville white nationalist riots of 2017. (Agencies)
