RAUTAHAT: The work of track opening for an electric railway along the Bagmati-Dhansar section in Rautahat has gained momentum in recent times.

Engineer at Railway Department Sumod Pokharel said that the contractor company has currently expedited the job of opening the track.

The Federal government is providing Rs 3 billion for the development of a 23-kilometer track in Rautahat district.

The government is working to construct a 1003.8-km-long electric railway along the east-west highway in 10 different packages along with three-link lines.

Contractors winning the bid for package one to five have already agreed to complete the tasks within two and a half years.

A total of six bridges would be constructed along the route.

Likewise, the Division Forest Office, Chandrapur, has already written to the Department of Forest seeking its approval for felling the trees along the Bagmati-Dhansar section for the railway route construction in the district.
