Dr Joshi killed in road accident in New Baneshwar

KATHMANDU: Dr Prabhu Joshi, 72, of Nishan Hospital has died in a road accident at New Baneshwar on Sunday morning.

According to Metropolitan Police Office, New Baneshwar, Joshi was apparently hit by a vehicle while he was out for a morning walk at New Baneshwar. The body was lying on the road with its head badly damaged.

“We found a body on the road with its head badly damaged this morning. The deceased is identified as Dr Prabhu Joshi. He was apparently hit by a vehicle while he was out for a morning walk. We are trying to find out the vehicle involved in the accident through a CCTV footage,” said Metropolitan Police Office, New Baneshwar.

Joshi, who hails from New Baneshwar, was currently working as a doctor at the ICU Department of Ishan Children and Women’s Hospital at New Road. He had previously worked at TU Teaching Hospital. Dr Joshi’s wife Lalita Joshi is also a doctor by profession. She is a gynecologist.

Joshi’s body has been taken to TU Teaching Hospital for postmortem.

But his postmortem will be carried out only after the police investigation is completed, hospital sources said.
