KATHMANDU: Naya Patrika has covered issues of Melamchi drinking water project and  ongoing dispute of the Nepali Congress over the statute.

According to the report, a total of 400 million liters of drinking water is required to meet the minimum demand of people of the Kathmandu Valley on a daily basis. Currently, only 80 million liters of water reach the consumers’ houses.

Nepali Congress statute drafting committee coordinator Purna Bahadur Khadka has proposed to endorse the party’s statute draft by putting the two disputed issues on hold.

Nepali Congress has not yet struck a deal on whether the General Convention representative should be elected from the lower level and repetition of proportional representation lawmaker.
